Re: "Do straight guys worry about such things? No. (They don’t, right?) But I have to consider them. Why? Because I am gay."

Of course we do. We just have to keep ourselves from being left alone in the same room as someone of the opposite sex. It really is no different.

Great post, by the way. There are others out there who would love to be able to open up about their own inappropriate attractions as you have, and the best place to start is being honest with yourself. You can't deal with your situation properly if you don't first admit to the situation.

Thanks.

1. For a subgroup known for their aesthetic, gays sure did pick a tacky symbol. ...Although I'm sure your skirt is lovely :-)

2. Kengo B., you're good for the self esteem, you know that?

3. I agree. A lot of people seem to thing that acceptance equates to surrendering one's agency, but I believe one can only truly exercise his or her agency to make a concrete decision based on "honest(y) about (self) and situation", as you stated.

Thanks for the post.

And I agree with you, in a lot of specific points.

"Now, I don’t think that every gay guy in the Church needs to start wearing a rainbow tie to sacrament meeting..."

I think that would be very cool...and I'll wear my rainbow skirt. :)

I enjoyed reading this post. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
