Cliff,

I've just finished a post on my blog that I think you might find interesting. I would love to hear your opinion and perspective.

By the way, I would love to get your strawberry tart recipe. After reading your post last week, you got me thinking of them.

@OFSM
Not to be a stickler (and immediately I will be), but where did you get that statistic? I agree that the Church loses more gay people than it retains, I just wonder about the specific number.

@SallyGirl
Yeah, loneliness can, well, suck. I'm glad if anything on my site helps.

@ Kengo B.
Hmm....French lemon tarts...

@TFD
I often find myself going back and forth between living in the heart of the city (where I live now) and moving to a cabin in Montana (moose be darned!). The only place I flatly refuse to live is the suburbs (I find them creepy).

Aha! My plan to convert the world over to strawberry tarts has taken hold!

Cliff,

Thanks for sharing your thoughts and feelings. You have no idea how many you might help by doing so, both straight and gay. Although I'm married, I often feel lonely because I live in a place with very little family, very few friends, and very few members of the Church (around 15, most of whom are over 60 year old). On top of that, I kind of live "out in the boonies" of rural Norway and although it's beautiful, moose aren't the greatest company. :)

All I can say is thank the Lord for the internet. My social life is mostly online.

Now you got me craving strawberry tarts. :)

Cliff...It's a great thing that you've been able to come to that feeling. Our door/inbox/chat is always open to you, as well. :)

I wish more people could come to that feeling of peace. It is hard at times, but if you can get to that point of acceptance, life does become easier, in some ways.

And if you want a Lemon Tart recipe (straight from France) let me know...I'll send it to you.

What an amazing perspective. I am not physically alone, but sometimes in my mind I feel very much alone and I hate it. At least, I did until I read you today. I never thought to embrace the loneliness. Thank you.

I suppose that may be why over 80% of those dealing with this "fun" issue in LDSFS leave the church. Loneliness is probably going to be your worst enemy.
